The legal committee was established in 2013 to provide community outreach, identify and serve community legal service needs, and promote and provide access to justice to low-income members of the Canadian Iranian community. IWOO, in partnership with CILAC pro bono, is a not-for profit corporation that aims to provide members of the Canadian-Iranian community, who do not qualify for legal aid yet have lower income, access to legal information, summary advice, and referrals in a linguistically and culturally sensitive environment.

For further info, check our calendar at the bottom of this page.
To accomplish our objectives, IWOO offers numerous services, including:
Workshops run by Pro Bono lawyers who offer correct information on laws pertaining to areas such as family, immigration, tenant & landlords, employment, wills & estate, personal injury, civil & commercial, and criminal.
Staffed by volunteer lawyers from the Canadian-Iranian community, participants have the opportunity to speak with one of the lawyers for 30 minutes. During this time, the lawyer can help them in numerous ways, such as, identifying legal or potential legal problems, providing resources and referrals, and helping to draft legal documents.
