Are you passionate about empowering Farsi-speaking immigrant women and families in Ontario? The
Iranian Women Organization of Ontario (IWOO) is looking for volunteer leaders to join our dynamic
board of directors.

About IWOO: Since 1989, IWOO has been dedicated to supporting Farsi-speaking women and families in
Ontario. We provide programs and services that promote equity, diversity, and community
empowerment. Our organization is a registered, not-for-profit, and charitable entity committed to
making a difference in the lives of immigrant communities.

Responsibilities:

Actively participate in monthly board meetings
Lead one board committee and participate in at least one additional committee
Utilize your skills and expertise to contribute to the organization’s growth and impact

Skills and Expertise: We are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise, especially in:

Accounting
Entrepreneurship
Law and legal expertise
Fundraising and resource development
Social work
Partner relations and network building in the Iranian community

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior volunteering experience
Strong team-working spirit
Previous board or leadership experience

Regular in person Board meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and urgent meeting be informed timely. Are you available at this time?

The minimum expectations for board members are listed below. Please confirm your ability and willingness to meet each. If selected for the board:

I will attend and actively participate in at least 10 of the 12 monthly board meetings. I will be able to lead one board committee. I will be able to participate in at least one additional board committee. I will be able to actively participate in the work of an operational board.
